Studio Manager 9 Mail Log

Many creative services firms use FileMaker Pro to correspond with their clients and vendors. They frequently have files for fax coversheets, letters, transmittals and other more specialized needs including email. We've chosen to build a single Mail Log file into Studio Manager.

If you want to generate a standard communication, start in Contacts and find the intended recipient. Then click the "New Mail" button. Studio Manager creates a new letter or fax (or other custom form that you've added) with phone, fax and address information automatically filled in.

You can create a standard look that is adhered to consistently because you've designed a form where people simply fill in the blanks. The letter and fax formats that come with Studio Manager are meant to be modified to include your logo and to fit your typeface and margin requirements.

This is the Email tab that works if you are using an email program supported by the version of FileMaker you are using. Filemaker, Inc. has gradually been adding email clients as they release FileMaker upgrades. There are also some great third party FileMaker plug-ins that will send (and receive) email directly from FileMaker that you may want to check out. We've been using SMTP-it ourselves and we set-up one of our clients with mail.it.
