Timesheets is probably the most used feature in Studio Manager. Simple timesheets can be accessed by every billable person in your office over your local area network or even from home or anywhere else you find a broadband connection (like at the local Starbucks or wherever you might be).
Mini Timesheet on the Employee Dashboard
Timesheets can be accessed via your desktop computer, a laptop, an iPad, the iPhone and even the iPod touch (requires a wireless network).
It only takes a minute to fill in your time for the day. Pop-down menus display active jobs only (job number and job title) and service billing categories. The Employee Dashboard includes a mini-timesheet for the current day only. The Timesheets module is a full blown portal that eliminates data you don’t need to see. Entering time couldn’t be easier and the data is input directly into your Job Costs records.
The Full Timesheets Entry Screen
For best results, have everyone working on projects enter their time daily. Job status reports instantly reflect timesheet entries. Paper timesheets are definitely out!
The Optional Stopwatch Feature
Do You Like Stopwatches?
By popular request, we’ve put in a stop watch feature. We don’t add features lightly. Simplicity rules so we didn’t put in a stop watch until it could be optional.
Here’s how it works. If you want to start a timer, click the left arrow for a particular line item you are working on. Then click the second arrow to stop the timer and have the duration of your work calculated for you.
Three other little treats for timer lovers:
You can enter a starting duration before you start the timer in case you forgot to start it and a few minutes have already gone by.
You can run the timers multiple times.
Whenever you stop the timer, you are taken to the duration field where the duration can be edited — just in case you forgot to stop the timer when you stopped work, or in case you want to round off the calculated amount.
